Nutrafol Updates Women’s Vegan Formula

Beauty and wellness product now features Moldavian dragonhead and has a new name.

Nutrafol is evolving its flagship women’s nutraceutical for the first time in more than a decade, making its most advanced women’s formulation the new standard across the portfolio, the Happi International Top 30 Company contends.

The formula, originally introduced as the clinically-studied Nutrafol Women’s Vegan (e.g. here, here), will now become Nutrafol Women’s Advanced—replacing the original Women’s formula for women 18-44 and “simplifying the portfolio around the latest advances in Nutrafol’s formulation science,” said the company.

The vegan, biotin-free formula incorporates “newer ingredient technologies” including Moldavian dragonhead, a botanical shown to support the body’s natural collagen production.

This component is also in the men’s formula, as reported in Happi.

According to Dr. Kim Biedermann, Nutrafol’s chief R&D officer:  “A successful product shouldn’t remain static simply because it works. As scientists, our responsibility is to continually evaluate emerging research and ingredient technologies and ask how new advances can help us evolve our solutions.”

Dr. Biedermann told Happi that the new formula incorporates Moldavian dragonhead to support the body’s natural collagen production, a clinically studied probiotic to support gut health and nutrient absorption, as well as bamboo to support hair strength.

“Women’s Advanced represents that philosophy in action—building on more than a decade of experience in women’s hair health and applying our latest formulation science to establish a new standard for our core women’s offering,” she said. “As consumer needs evolve and new science and ingredient technologies emerge, there’s an opportunity and responsibility  to continually ask whether an existing formula can be made better.”
